(Non)secular Girl is a blog by me, Casey Fleming. On this public space, I’m writing sermons, attempting to take the traditional form, rinse it clean and re-birth it to suit my own purposes. In doing so I inhabit neither a religious nor secular space, but carve out a place for my life in what I call the “nonsecular world.” The “sermons” compiled here will attempt to instruct, satirize, elegize, provoke, and explore. I hope the end result is a deeply reflective and personal dialogue with my country, my gender, and my past. I hope (Non)secular Girl will resonate with anyone who has ever fought for a meaningful relationship with her soul. You should expect a sermon each week, on–what else?–Sunday.
Excited to read these. Thank you Ann Friedman.
